Special Message from Dr. Torres, our County Administrator: IUSD School Reopening Updates
Phased Reopening In-Person Instruction for Students beginning April 26, 2021
Our phased reopening plan will begin on April 26, 2021, with the reopening of specific grade levels for students whose parents have selected the hybrid instructional model in the following grade levels:
- Child Development Center (CDC)
- Pre-Kindergarten (Pre-K)
- Transitional Kindergarten (TK)
- Kindergarten
- First Grade
- Second Grade
- Third grade students only enrolled in a combination class with second grade
- Students enrolled in Special Day Class (SDC) for Pre-K to Grade 2
Students in grade levels not listed above will be offered the opportunity to participate in the District’s in-person Summer School/Extended School Year in mid-June.
Students in grade levels 3-12 will remain in the full-time distance learning model due to their participation in state assessments beginning on April 12, 2021. Oak Street Reopening Information
Starting Monday, April 19, 2021, our TK-2 grade teachers will return to school and begin preparing for in-person instruction. During that week, teachers will set up their classrooms and receive additional training and support with the use of the ViewSonic boards and live streaming instruction for the students who will remain on Distance Learning. We know this will be a new challenge for everyone, and I feel confident our teachers and students will do an excellent job.
At Oak Street School, we have 52 students returning to in-person instruction. We look forward to welcoming the students to school on April 26, 2021. Additionally, starting Monday, April 26, 2021, the entire Inglewood Unified School District will be returning to full-day instruction for all students in both in-person and virtual instruction. At least we now will begin our journey of returning to a sense of “normalcy”.
The California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) System
Starting tomorrow, Monday, April 12, 2021, students in the 3rd through 7th grades will begin their yearly Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC) testing. Students will be assessed in English language arts and mathematics. Please ensure that your students’ devices are fully charged and that students are well-rested and arrive at class on time. They will be assessed by smaller groups and will be supervised by their classroom teacher. It is imperative that students try their best to perform well on these assessments. PTA Fundraiser from with Popcornopolis and PTA Elections
PTA would like to thank the families that supported the Popcornopolis fundraiser. In total, we raised $466 dollars. These funds will be used to support school initiatives.
Starting tomorrow, April 12, 2021, PTA will begin to take nominations for the executive board. These include President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Parliamentarian. You can also email your nominations at [email protected]. The nomination window will be from April 12, 2021, to April 16, 2021. PTA Elections will follow in the following weeks.

Instrucción en persona de reapertura gradual para estudiantes a partir del 26 de abril de 2021
Nuestro plan de reapertura por etapas comenzará el 26 de abril de 2021, con la reapertura de niveles de grado específicos para los estudiantes cuyos padres han seleccionado el modelo de instrucción híbrido en los siguientes niveles de grado:
- Centro de desarrollo infantil (CDC)
- Pre-Kindergarten (Pre-K)

Información sobre la reapertura de Oak Street
A partir del lunes 19 de abril de 2021, nuestros maestros de grados TK-2 regresarán a la escuela y comenzarán a prepararse para la instrucción en persona. El Sistema de Evaluación del Desempeño y Progreso de los Estudiantes de California (CAASPP)
A partir de mañana, lunes 12 de abril de 2021, los estudiantes de tercer a séptimo grado comenzarán sus pruebas anuales del Consorcio de Evaluación Smarter Balanced (SBAC). Los estudiantes serán evaluados en artes del lenguaje inglés y matemáticas. Asegúrese de que los dispositivos de sus estudiantes estén completamente cargados, que los estudiantes hayan descansado bien y lleguen a clase a tiempo. Serán evaluados por grupos más pequeños y serán supervisados por su maestro de aula. Es imperativo que los estudiantes hagan todo lo posible para desempeñarse bien en estas evaluaciones. Recaudación de fondos de la PTA de Popcornopolis y La Elections delPTA
PTA desea agradecer a las familias que apoyaron la recaudación de fondos de Popcornopolis. En total recaudamos $466 dólares. Estos fondos se utilizarán para apoyar iniciativas escolares.
A partir de mañana, 12 de abril de 2021, la PTA comenzará a aceptar nominaciones para la junta ejecutiva. Estos incluyen presidente, vicepresidente, tesorero, secretario y parlamentario.
