Main Office Reopen
It is with enthusiasm to inform you that our main office has reopened. Phone lines are also operational. For safety reasons, make sure to call the office at 310-680-5340 and schedule an appointment prior to coming to school.
Book Distribution Grades 1, 6, & 7
Tomorrow, Monday, December 7, 2020, we have an important book distribution. Your student's teacher should have communicated with you so that you can sign-up for an appointment between the hours of 9 to 12am at Oak Street School. Sign-up sheets are located in your student's Google Classroom. If you have not signed up, you must sign-up in order to pick up those essential materials before Monday. For safety reasons, you must have an appointment. Please reach out to your student's teacher if you have any questions. Make sure you are wearing a face cover and social distancing during your pick-up time.
Winter Music Recital
This year, our Winter Music Recital will take place virtually during your student’s regularly assigned music class date and time. These dates are December 14, 15, and 17, 2020. Your student’s teacher has a flyer with the date, time, and a link to the classroom performance. Please contact your student’s teacher for further details.
Message from Mr. Norberto Perez, Chief Operating Officer, Overseeing IUSD Safety & Operations
Although we do not know when our IUSD schools may re-open for face-to-face instruction, we are being proactive by planning now and continuing to put safety first. Over the past 6 months, both experts and stakeholders have been working together to develop a comprehensive safe reopening plan.
The plan employs the most current safety protocol guidelines, including:
- Mandatory face coverings
- Entrance screenings
- Temperature checks
- Social distancing & floor standing signage
- Sanitization stations, hand sanitizer, and sanitizing wipes
- Classroom setup based on the Department of Public Health Guidelines
- A cleaning sanitization schedule
- And much more

Reapertura de la oficina principal
Es con entusiasmo informarle que nuestra oficina principal ha reabierto. Las líneas telefónicas también están operativas. Por razones de seguridad, asegúrese de llamar a la oficina al 310-680-5340 y programar una cita antes de venir a la escuela.
Distribución de libros para los grados 1, 6 y 7
Mañana lunes 7 de diciembre de 2020 tendremos una importante distribución de libros. El maestro de su estudiante debería haberse comunicado con usted para que pueda inscribirse en una cita entre las 9 y las 12 am en Oak Street School. Las hojas de registro se encuentran en el Google Classroom de su estudiante. Si no se ha inscrito, debe inscribirse para recoger esos materiales esenciales antes del lunes. Por razones de seguridad, debe concertar una cita. Comuníquese con el maestro de su estudiante si tiene alguna pregunta. Asegúrese de usar una cubierta facial y de distanciamiento social durante la hora de recogida.
Recital de música de invierno
Este año, nuestro Recital de música de invierno se llevará a cabo virtualmente durante la fecha y hora de la clase de música asignada regularmente a sus estudiantes. Estas fechas son el 14, 15 y 17 de diciembre de 2020. El maestro de su estudiante tiene un volante con la fecha, la hora y un enlace a la presentación en el aula. Comuníquese con el maestro de su estudiante para obtener más detalles.

Aunque no sabemos cuándo pueden reabrir nuestras escuelas del IUSD para recibir instrucción presencial, estamos siendo proactivos al planificar ahora y continuar poniendo la seguridad en primer lugar . Durante los últimos 6 meses, tanto los expertos como las partes interesadas han estado trabajando juntos para desarrollar un plan integral de reapertura segura.
El plan emplea las pautas de protocolo de seguridad más actualizadas, que incluyen:
- Revestimientos faciales obligatorios
- Proyecciones de entrada
- Comprobaciones de temperatura
- Distanciamiento social y señalización de suelo
- Estaciones de desinfección, desinfectante de manos y toallitas desinfectantes
- Configuración del aula según las pautas del Departamento de Salud Pública
- Un programa de limpieza y desinfección
- Y mucho más
